Live band for weddings, galas and corporate events

Thirteen players. One band.

The Headliners are a fixed 13 piece band based in Florida. The same singers, rhythm section and horns walk on stage at every event, and the dance floor stays full until the lights come up.

Why it works

A set band, not a roster.

Many groups that sell themselves as anything from three to thirteen pieces are built from a list of available players each weekend. The Headliners are one ensemble that rehearses together and plays together, and you can hear the difference in the first song.

  • 01

  • 02
A show worth watchingThe front line sings, dances and works the room with rehearsed choreography.
  • 03

The band

Three sections, one sound.

Every player was chosen for this band. They hold music degrees, have toured with national acts and now make Florida home.

I

The front line

Lead vocalists who cover Sinatra to this year's radio, trade leads all night and never stand still.

II

The rhythm section

Keys, guitar, bass and drums. The engine that lets one song roll into the next without a pause.

III

The horns

Sax, trumpet and trombone. The part of a live band no playlist or DJ can stand in for.

Planning

How the night runs.

A typical wedding is one hour of cocktail music and four hours with the full band. Here is what that looks like from load in to last song.

  1. Four hours beforeCrew and sound arriveSetup takes two to three hours and is finished well before guests walk in.
  2. Cocktail hourSolo guitar or pianoA guitarist is included. Add sax, or a pianist if the room has a piano.
  3. Doors openThe band starts with energyUpbeat music from the first minute, with formalities finished before dinner where possible.
  4. Main courseOne short breakTwenty to twenty-five minutes, timed to dinner service, with a custom dinner playlist running.
  5. After dinnerDance sets to the endBack to back hits across every decade. Overtime is available if nobody wants to leave.

    Questions

    Asked often.

If yours is not here, call or write. We like talking to clients in person.

Can we book a smaller version of the band?

No. The Headliners are a fixed ensemble and a smaller version would not be the same band. If your room or budget calls for a smaller group, ask us and we will gladly point you to good ones.

Will thirteen pieces be too loud?

Volume has little to do with the size of a band. We travel with our own sound crew and equipment and mix for the room, including quieter levels during dinner.

How long does the band play?

Most weddings are a one hour cocktail set from a solo musician and four hours with the full band. Corporate events are often two or three hours of continuous music. Overtime is available.

Can you learn a song for us?

Yes. For weddings we plan on learning the first dance and parent dances. Other special requests need at least three months notice so they are rehearsed properly.

    Do you take breaks?

One break of twenty to twenty-five minutes, timed to the main course, with a dinner playlist built from your requests. Continuous music is available at an added cost.

Why are you not on my venue's vendor list?

Many venues list us as preferred. We do not pay to appear on any list and we do not pay commissions, so when you do see our name it is there on merit.

    How do payments work?

    Check, direct deposit or Zelle.
